Wow! What a wonderful day at the Year 3 & 4 Hoop Time. We took 15 teams to this day and for many of our students this was not only their first game of competitive basketball but also their first chance to participate in inter-school sport competition. It was great to witness the sportsmanship and amount of encouragement demonstrated by all the students towards one another and the improvement that they displayed throughout the day was exceptional. A huge thankyou needs to be given to the parents who took time out of their day to come and score for our teams. Your help was very much appreciated by both the teachers and students. A very special pat on the back for the Allstar Boys 1 team (Kobe A, Josh H, Masato Y, Joe M, Luke D, Ben D, Ben L & Thomas N) who were crowned Hooptime champions after going through the tournament undefeated. The Livingstone Lizards (Janu J, Cooper M, Nathan C, Zach T, Chloe M, Mia L, Siddhi P)also made the Grand Final and played so well that they were also invited to participate in regional finals.
On Friday 15th May, 48 students from Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 attended the Nunawading District Cross Country event at Ruffey Lake Park. Many of the students have been training for weeks and all of our students did themselves and our school proud by the effort they put in. We finished in fourth place overall and seven of our students (Luke D, Ben L, Lochie R, Natalia M, Ethan M and Tessa B) will now go on to represent both Livingstone and the Nunawading District at the Whitehorse Division Cross Country in a couple of weeks time.

Well done to all of the Year 3-6 students who competed in the House Athletics Carnival at Bill Stewart Athletics Track last Monday the 4th of May. This time around we were treated to a lovely sunny day and our students gave it their all, showed some fantastic performances and enjoyed what was a great day. The team spirit and level of sportsmanship shown by the students was also at a high level throughout the day.
We look forward to many more fantastic Athletics performances at the District Athletics.
Sofia S (2014 School Captain) and her family attended a very special awards ceremony at the Long Room at the MCG. Sofia is an extremely talented soccer player and last year was a member of the Livingstone soccer team that finished 3rd in the state. She also was the leading goal scorer for Victoria at the National Schools Championship and travelled to Florida to compete in an international tournament during the year. School Sport Victoria presented a ‘Sporting Blue’ award to our state’s most promising students, and Sofia was one of the recipients! Everyone at Livingstone is extremely proud of you, Sofia.
On Monday our students travelled to Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre to compete against 6 other schools from our local district. They were amazing representatives of our school both in and out of the pool. It was great to hear the amount of noise coming from the Livingstone students as they cheered their classmates on. The scores between Livingstone and Orchard Grove Primary School were tied coming into the last race and the U/12 Girls Freestyle Relay team were fantastic, winning in a close race and helping Livingstone to a six point win.
